Their conclusion: taking photos and video makes people enjoy an experience more, because they pay closer attention and become more immersed in the moment. Mebayluon mainly uses the Insta360 X6, the newest and most advanced 360° camera available today (launched August 2026), plus a few X5 units as backup. The X6 has two square Sony 1/1.1-inch sensors, 33% larger than the X5, shoots 8K/50fps 10-bit 360° video with in-camera Dolby Vision, takes 120MP 360° photos, handles low light and backlight far better thanks to the bigger sensors, and adds AI Director subject tracking, FlowState stabilisation with 360° Horizon Lock, 20 m waterproofing and 140 minutes of continuous 8K recording per charge.

5 things a 360 camera can do that a GoPro cannot:

GoPro: a face-on clip with real emotion, great to send to family and friends or post as a quick story.
