For the first time held in Hoa Binh City, the paragliding experience program features many unique and exciting activities, celebrating Hoa Binh Province’s hosting of the cycling event in the 31st Southeast Asian Games, and responding to the province’s tourism stimulus campaign themed “Hoa Binh – a safe tourism destination for a complete and fulfilling experience.” Located about 40 km from central Hanoi, Vien Nam Mountain is well known for its pristine natural beauty and is an ideal destination for paragliding enthusiasts. Taking off from a peak at 1,031 meters above sea level, participants ride the wind, soaring through the clouds and sky, enjoying panoramic views of majestic mountain ranges, lush green fields, and small houses quietly nestled in the valleys. 📌 Note: the programme ran in April 2022 at the Vien Nam site, then part of Hoa Binh province. The site is now within Hanoi.

🏛️ What local officials said
At the opening, Bui Quang Diep, chairman of the Hoa Binh city people's committee, said the paragliding programme had been run safely, effectively and in line with regulations. The city worked with the Hoa Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with technical and logistical support from partner organisations. The city's aim was to promote and trial a new sports-tourism activity — something distinctive that could anchor sustainable tourism development and a higher-quality product chain in the province.
